January 31, 2014
By Chad Clem Staff Writer , The Inter-Mountain

WEAVER - A Special Response Team - including entry teams, special units and even a drug robot - was involved in the execution of a drug warrant in Barbour County Tuesday, officials said.

The Philippi detachment of the West Virginia State Police reported that the arrest warrant was executed at a residence near the Weaver area.

Sgt. J.A. Wyatt told The Inter-Mountain the warrant was for a female individual who was supposedly living in the residence but was not found there Thursday by police crews. The female contacted State Police officials Thursday and told them that she was willing to turn herself in, Wyatt said.

Two other individuals, one male and one female, were also involved in the situation Thursday and are cooperating with authorities, Wyatt said.

No names had been released at presstime. The incident is still under investigation.
