Celia Ann Wood Sharp, 90, a resident of Punkintown, departed this life Saturday afternoon, Feb. 1, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1923, in Webster Springs, a daughter of the late Joseph Bryan and Nettie Colleen Tharp Wood.
On June 25, 1945, she was married to Cecil Raymond "Pappy" Sharp, who preceded her in death Nov. 7, 2001.
They had celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Surviving are nine sons, Cecil A. Sharp and wife, Ruth, Ralph E. Sharp, Randall A. Sharp, Eddie L. Sharp and wife, Carol, Delbert B. Sharp and wife, Crystal, and Danny R. Sharp, all of Ohio; Ronald R. Sharp and wife, Brenda, and Dennis L. Sharp and wife, Heather, all of Elkins, and Kenny H. Sharp, Punkintown; three daughters, Shirley Mae Morgan and husband, Herb, of Belington, Linda Corica and husband, Danny, and Wanda Faye Vest and husband, J.R., all of Elkins; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death are one brother, Mount Vernon Wood; and one granddaughter, Sherry K. Sharp.
She attended the one room school in the Duffy Community near Weston, was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was a noted cook and good conversationalist.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, from noon to 2 p.m. On Wednesday at 2 p.m, a funeral service will be held.
The Rev. Norman Butler of Parkersburg will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
