The Davis & Elkins women and Alderson Broaddus men are the hottest teams in the G-MAC.

So it's only fitting that this week's conference players of the week hail from those teams.

The Senators' Jorden Lykes and the Battlers' Richard Lemon were named this week's recipients Monday by the conference office.

Lykes, a senior forward from Prince George, Va., helped D&E extend its winning streak to six games last week, averaging 20.3 points and 10.7 rebounds in three victories.

She tallied 24 points in only 25 minutes in a win over AB and scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in an upset victory at No. 22 Edinboro. Lykes wrapped up the week with a 20-point, 15-rebound effort against Ursuline on Saturday.

Lykes is currently averaging 13.1 points and 7.6 caroms, good for seventh and fourth, respectively, among the G-MAC leaders.

The Senators will host league foe Cedarville at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lemon, a sophomore from Philadelphia, is the second Battler to earn league honors this season, joining two-time winner Adam Kline.

He scored 39 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in wins over D&E and Bluefield State last week. Lemon was 8 of 12 from the field, scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the victory over the Senators.

Lemon's 22-point effort against the Big Blues was a career high. He knocked down 10 of 17 shot attempts, collected 11 caroms and dished out four assists.

Lemon had two double-doubles last week.

AB, which has won 12 straight games, will entertain Central State University at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for a league contest.
