Pamela Lea McCourt, 54, of Tallmansville, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, in St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born Aug. 3, 1959, in Vienna, a daughter of the late William John Dahlheim Jr., and Joanna Dahlheim.
On Feb. 27, 1982, she married Joseph McCourt, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jeremiah McCourt and wife, Jamie, of Buckhannon and Jonathan McCourt of Tallmansville; one grandson, Odin McCourt of Buckhannon; four brothers, Ronnie Jackson of Buckhannon, Robert Jackson and wife, Tish, of Volga, William Dahlheim III and wife, Peggy, of Buckhannon and Brad Dahlheim and wife, Michelle, of Volga; one sister, Teena Miller and husband, Todd, of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jonnie Jackson and David Dahlheim.
Mrs. McCourt worked for the Upshur County Board of Education as a school teacher. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Mrs. McCourt was an avid basketball and softball player known as "Pickle." She coached Buckhannon-Upshur Middle school boys track and Buckhannon-Upshur High School softball, and she also loved to trout fish and hunt. Pamela graduated from Marshall University and received a master's degree from WVU.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date for family and friends.
