CRYSTAL SPRINGS - Two people were sent to Davis Medical Center after an accident that occurred on Corridor H at the intersection of the Crystal Springs exit Friday morning.

The West Virginia State Police, the Elkins Fire Department and Randolph County EMS responded to the scene around 11:30 a.m. The wreck involved a white Mercury SUV with a female driver and a white Ford F-150 pick-up truck with a male driver. The pick-up truck was owned by the J.F. Allen Company.

According to State Police officials on scene, it appeared the driver of the SUV was crossing into the westbound lane of the Corridor when it collided with the pick-up truck.

Trooper D. R. Wolford said later Friday that the driver of the SUV told him she had not been feeling well when she got to the traffic light and the only thing she remembers is emergency officials helping her out of the wreckage.

Traffic was interrupted for about an hour as officials cleaned up the scene.

The driver of the SUV was cited for failure to yield, Wolford said.

Wolford said both drivers were taken to DMC to be treated for injuries. No word was available on the extent of their injuries at presstimes. Wolford declined to release the names of the drivers at presstime.
