Frigid weather kept city workers busy

February 8, 2014
Karen J. Kelley, Utility Billing Clerk city of Elkins , The Inter-Mountain

During the week of Jan. 27-31, the employees in the city of Elkins' Water Distribution found themselves overcome with water breaks, frozen meters and water flooding basements and homes from the below-zero temperatures in Elkins.

I have worked with these employees many years and I was extremely impressed with their attitude and compassion for our customers during this week. The thoughtfulness each of these employees gave our customers is to be commended. They were diligent in their work and applied their knowledge and expertise to each individual house and business they went to.

I heard them tell customers, "Don't worry, I will be right behind you," and "I understand what you are going through, I'll be right there."

These are exceptional employees and I, personally, thank them for all the work they accomplished during this difficult week.
