Norma Lee Wyant, 75, who made her home with her daughter, Lisa and Jeffrey Wolfe and their daughters, Katrina, and Benjamin Shipley and Leanna Wolfe of Volga and formerly of Weston and Buckhannon, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, in St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born Feb. 8, 1938, in Weston, a daughter of the late Hartzel Earl McCartney and Edith Gaye Boggs McCartney Stevens. Also her husband, Harry E. Wyant, and a brother, Ronnie McCartney, preceded her in death.
Norma is survived by seven children, Kathy (Edward H.) McBride of Lewes, Del., Lori (Jerome) Post of Ireland, Lisa (Jeffrey) Wolfe of Volga, Doug (Terri) Woods of Buckhannon, Richard (Kim) Woods of Smithfield, N.C., Pam (Doug) Haymond of Buckhannon and Renee (Jeffery Haynes) Tabor-Haynes of Huntington; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; former spouse, Melvin P. Woods Jr. of Milton, Fla.; sister, Della Jean Ramsey Foster of Weston; brothers, Earl (Mary) McCartney of Weston and Freddie (Lisa) McCartney of Suffolk, Va.
She was a homemaker and loved her plants, flower gardens, especially her Roses.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dwayne Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Weston Masonic Cemetery.
