D&E women earn win

ELKINS - Davis & Elkins erupted for 64 points in the second half to earn a 103-92 win over Central State University Saturday in ?G-MAC action at the McDonnell?Center.

Jorden Lykes fired in 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Senators. Stephanie Wooten added 20 points and Ashley Bowles chipped in with 18.

Veronne Clark had 24 points for the Marauders. Demetria Lash added 17 and Shakeira Lang 12.

D&E trailed 37-28 before closing the first half on an 11-4 run.

The Senators led 52-51 then embarked on an 11-0 spurt in the second half to build a 63-51 cushion.

Central State never got within five points the remainder of the game.

D&E will visit Ohio Valley at 5:30 p.m. Thursday for a G-MAC contest.

W.Va. State 70, Wesleyan 41

BUCKHANNON - Lexy Carson tallied 20 points to lead West Virginia State to an easy Mountain East Conference victory over Wesleyan Saturday at the Rockefeller Center.

Brittany Williams had 14 points and KiKi DeVane 12 rebounds for the Bobcats, who will host Notre Dame College at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Cedarville 80, AB 57

PHILIPPI - Kayla Jenerette's 23 points sparked Cedarville to a G-MAC win over Alderson Broaddus Saturday at Rex Pyles Arena.

Sydney Shaffer netted 12 points and Nautica Davis 10 for the Battlers. Rachel Ashley added eight rebounds.

AB will visit Salem International at 6 p.m. Thursday for another league contest.

Men's Games

Central State 84, D&E 71

ELKINS - Central State shot 52 percent from the field en route to the G-MAC win over Davis & Elkins at the McDonnell Center.

The Senators were led by Juwan Strothers with 17 points, followed by Devin Miller with 13. Brian Dixon and Tivius Guthrie added 10, while Aleks Vasiljevic pulled down 10 boards.

Raheem Lemons had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Marauders. LeDonte Body (13), Tre Edwards (13), Masceo Harmon (13) and Antone Byrd (10) also reached double figures.

D&E will travel to Ohio Valley at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Wesleyan 74, W.Va. State 71

BUCKHANNON - T.J. Thompson had 25 points to lead Wesleyan past Mountain East Conference foe West Virginia State Saturday at the Rockefeller Center.

Brett Ervin added 16 points and Aleksandar Djordjevic 10 for the Bobcats. Tanner McGrew also grabbed nine rebounds.

Dominic Phillips had 21 points, Bo King 17 and Anton Hutchins 12 for the Yellow Jackets.

Wesleyan will host Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

AB 93, Cedarville 57

PHILIPPI - Adam Kline had 15 points and 16 rebounds to power Alderson Broaddus past Cedarville Saturday at Rex Pyles Arena.

Malcolm Tatum led the Battlers with 24 points.

Marcus Reineke had 20 for the Yellow Jackets.

AB will visit Salem International at 8 p.m. Thursday.
