ELKINS - Local quilters gathered Sunday at a quilter's reunion, sponsored by the Elkins Sewing Center. Owner Sue Pifer said the event served a dual purpose.
"This offers the opportunity for folks to come together to see what other people have made, or what they are in the process of making," Pifer said. "It is also the time we introduce some of our new and upcoming classes."
Pifer said the reunion has been scheduled for a number of years and gives everyone a break in the winter. More than a dozen quilters and quilt enthusiasts gathered Sunday afternoon at the center

Quilters Rosemary Tomblyn, Paula Ball and Katherine Prentice share quilts they are working on at the Elkins Sewing Center.
"There is nothing better to do on a cold, snowy day than get together with other quilters to share," Pifer said. "The reunion is very inspirational and a much-needed break in February."
Upcoming classes offered at the Elkins Sewing Center include a block of the month class, quilted wall hangings and a vest. Information about the classes is available by calling 304-636-9480, visiting the store at 300 Davis Ave. in Elkins or online at elkinssewingcenter.com.
