MOOREFIELD - Class A, No. 4 Tucker County blew into Moorefield and took home a 68-24 victory in PVC action on Tuesday night.

Stephanie Betler and Madison Mullenax scored 12 points each to lead the Mountain Lions. Mariah Bowley had five assists. Maison Reall grabbed seven rebounds.

"Our girls came out focused and took control of the game early," Tucker County coach Jim Ambrose said. "Our half-court man defense was pretty good tonight. We need to stay hungry these next two weeks and pray the snow misses us. I'm very proud of our effort. It was a good team win."

Beth Cook led the Yellow Jackets in scoring with 12 points.

Tucker County will host Petersburg at 7:30 on Thursday, while Moorefield travels to Berkeley Springs on the same evening.

Bridgeport 59, B-U 39

BRIDGEPORT - Buckhannon-Upshur led by one at halftime, but couldn't generate enough offense in the second half to earn a victory as Bridgeport claimed a 59-39 Big 10 Conference win on Tuesday night.

"Megan (Wilfong) and Makayla (Reynolds) played dominant ball in the first quarter but Megan got into foul trouble," Bucs coach Tristen Gray said. "Makayla had 10 of her 12 points in the first half. In the second half, Bridgeport increased the pressure and forced us into turnovers that led to quick points. That's where the game turned. Our girls played hard the whole way through."

Reynolds paced the Bucs with 12 points. Courtney Reed scored nine points and Wilfong added eight points.

Junior Hannah Fetty led the Indians with 14 points. Freshman Gianina Renzelli scored 13 points.

B-U will host Preston at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Grafton 62, Philip Barbour 43

GRAFTON - Morgan Cox fired in 14 points to lift Grafton over Philip Barbour, 62-43, Tuesday night in Big 10 Conference action.

The Bearcats got off to a fast start, leading 30-11 at halftime.

Brooke Pomp led the Colts with 13 points and eight rebounds. Haley Stewart contributed 11 points.

For the Bearcats, Tess Claire scored 11 points.

"They're a tough matchup for us," Philip Barbour coach Stan Fitzwater said. "They've got size and quickness. Our girls played hard again, but we just didn't have enough for them."

The Colts will host Bridgeport at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
