Ervin Skinner

Ervin Fray Skinner, 84, of the Hall Road in Buckhannon, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at his home under the care of St. Joseph's

Hospice.

He was born March 9, 1929, in Braxton County, a son of the late Earse and Clara McCauley Skinner.

On July 26, 1950, he married Madaline Cunningham, who preceded him in death July 1, 2012.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Bartlett; and three brothers, Fay, Jimmy and Ray Skinner; and one infant brother, Francis Skinner.

He is survived by three sisters, Rena Posey and husband, Richard, of Orlando, Veda Cantrell of Jane Lew and Gae Luzader and husband, Clarron, of Windham, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Skinner served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 32 years as a plant manager at General Motors in Cleveland, Ohio. Ervin was also a retired member of United Automobile Workers Local 1005 in Ohio, a lifelong farmer, and he loved his bluegrass music.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, in Quickle Cemetery in Burnsville with the Rev. Ronzel Roberts officiating. The Lewis County Honor Guard will conduct full military honors at the graveside.
