Iva R. Marstiller

Iva Rossey Marstiller passed away Feb. 22, 2014, in the Hospice Care Corporation Regional Impatient Center. Prior to being a resident of the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center for the past six years, she lived in Dailey for 50 years.

She was born April 2, 1915, at Whitmer, the daughter of the late George Michael Mallow and Priscilla Clementine Nelson Mallow.

She was educated in the schools of Whitmer and Harman. She received training at the Davis Memorial School of Practical Nursing and became a licensed practical nurse and worked at the Memorial General Hospital in Elkins for several years.

Iva was twice married. She was first married to Hancel C. Rossey, who preceded her in death in 1963. She later married Shirley David Marstiller, who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters, Inetta Gadd, Irene Smith and Iris Rossi; and two stepsons, Tom and David Marstiller.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Andy and Anne Irons, Michael Gadd and wife, Trica, Chris Smith, Greg Smith and wife, Brenda, Steve Smith, Matt Smith and wife, Annie, and Kim and Sam Rossi; great-grandchildren, Kasey and Taylor Gadd, Lindsey and Spencer Smith, Jessica Ely, Holly Davis, Brett Smith, Nathaniel, Arianna and Preston Smith, Emma Del Torto, Gavin, Damian and Owen Rossi; and great- great-grandchildren, Asher Ely and Summer Lewis-Smith; and three sons-in-law, Neil Irons, Bill Gadd and Sal Rossi; and several nieces and nephews.

Her special Dailey neighbors were Darrell and Patti Ware and Jim Shockey.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Inez Rossey Irons, and son-in-law, Ray Smith; five brothers, Covey, Lou, Dallas, Snowden and Walter; and six sisters, May, Marvie, Opal, Avis, Twila and Erma.

Iva's two main interests were reading her bible and gardening.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, from the funeral home chapel with Bishop Neil Irons and Rev. Dr. Basil A Hensley officiating.

Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery at Whitmer.
