PARSONS - A Hambleton man is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $26,000 cash-only bond after being arrested on drug and weapons charges.
Patrick Wayne Fladung, 20, of 69 Wolf Run Road, was arraigned Sunday before Tucker County Magistrate Riley Barb. Fladung was charged with one count of possession with the intent to deliver, a felony, and carrying a concealed weapon, a misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaint, Tucker County Deputy C.R. Donelson and Cpl. M.S. Wetzel were following a vehicle in Parsons Saturday evening when the driver traveled left of center before the Blackfork Bridge. The complaint states the officers pulled over the vehicle, of which Fladung was a passenger.
The officers reportedly asked Fladung if he had anything illegal in his possession, and "Fladung advised the officer that he had a little bit of weed," the complaint states. Fladung reached into his pocket and gave the officer a "large mason jar full of marijuana buds" and a set of digital scales, according to the complaint.
Fladung also had a set of aluminum knuckles in his pocket, police said.
Officers determined the weight of the marijuana to be slightly more than 2 ounces, the complaint states.
Fladung said he bought the marijuana in Elkins for $500, according to the complaint.
