Elva Mae Vandevender Jordan, 72, of Marlinton, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, in Pocahontas Memorial Hospital.
Elva was a wife, mother and grandmother. Elva was a 4-H Leader and enjoyed time with her family and loved the outdoors. She loved to be around all
She was born Sept. 6, 1941, at Monterville, the daughter of the late Elvin and Nessie Arbogast
She is survived by her husband, Richard Abraham Jordan; daughter, Debbie A. Dean of Brownsburg; sons, Jimmie E. Jordan and wife, Sandy, and Chris A. Jordan and wife, Lori, all of Edray and Darrell R. Jordan and wife, Sabrina, of Woodrow; sisters, Rosalie Noel and husband, Jerry, and Frances Peters, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Dorothy Bennett of Craigsville, Linda Bennett and husband, Steve, of Moatsville and Susie Arbogast and husband, Mitch, of Monterville; brothers, Richard Vandevender and wife, Doris, of Droop and Chambers Vandevender and wife, Colleen, of Brady Gate; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by VanReenen Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Mann officiating. Interment will be in Cochran Cemetery in Onoto.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wound Care Center in Greenbrier County.
