Old man winter hasn't loosened his grasp on the area, but the boys high school sectional tournaments are still slated to heat up the hardwood this week.
The Class A, Region II, Section 1 tournament tips off today at Elkins High School. Notre Dame will face Harman at 5:45 p.m. and Tucker County will play Tygarts Valley at 7:30 p.m.
Harman (10-4) will look to juniors Casey Elza and Coy Cummings to provide the offense. Other top players include senior Christopher Alt and freshman Kameron Shifflett.

Colby Gainer and the Elkins Tigers will take on Hampshire County Wednesday in Class AAA, Region II, Section 2 action.
Notre Dame (17-4) is currently ranked No. 3. The Fighting Irish are led by seniors Cal Cistaro, Justin Goff and Christopher Petrucci, along with freshmen Jarrod West and Anthony Demary.
The two teams did not meet during the regular season.
Tucker County (15-5) is led by seniors Ian Nichols, Zach Armstrong and Mitchell Mason. The Mountain Lions are currently ranked No. 8.
Seniors Derrick Villarico, Keighan Chewning and Tyler Shiflett will pace Tygarts Valley (10-11).
Tucker defeated Tygarts Valley both times the teams played this season.
In Class A, Region II, Section 2, Pocahontas County will host the West Virginia School for the Deaf and East Hardy will host Paw Paw. Tipoff for both games are set at 7 p.m.
Pocahontas County (6-13) and the WVSD (1-9) did not meet during the regular season.
The winner for the PCHS/WVSD game will play at Moorefield at 7 p.m. Thursday. Pendleton will host the winner of the East Hardy/Paw Paw game, also at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Petersburg High School.
In Class AA, Region II, Section 2, Philip Barbour will travel to Lincoln for a 7 p.m. contest today. Grafton will host Liberty at 7 p.m.
The Colts (4-16) are led by senior Al Johnson and juniors Kamian Bartlett and Trevor Matko. PBHS defeated Lincoln, 63-57, in the opening game this season, but lost to the Cougars, 63-53, on Jan. 10.
The second round takes place on Thursday with Robert C. Byrd High School hosting the winner of PBHS/Lincoln, and Bridgeport hosting the winner of Grafton/Liberty. Both games are set for 7 p.m.
The Class AAA, Region II, Section 2 tournament tips off Wednesday with Elkins hosting Hampshire County and Buckhannon Upshur traveling to Lewis County. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. for both games.
The highest remaining seed with host the sectional championship at 7 p.m. Friday.
The Tigers (11-10) will look to seniors Colby Gainer and Logan Phillips to provide the offense. Hampshire (12-7) is led by seniors Ethan Smith, Dane Heavener and Anthony Barnes.
EHS defeated Hampshire, 77-50, on Dec. 20.
B-U (5-15) will rely on senior Zane Cleavenger and juniors Thomas Kotol to run the offense. Seniors Johnnie Riley, Skylar Carlton and Joe Nichols lead the charge for LCHS (15-5).
The Minutemen defeated the Bucs both times the teams met this season.
