Nicholas "Nick" Joel Haddix, 32, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Monday, March 3, 2014, at his home. He had been in his usual health, and death was sudden and unexpected.
Nick was born Thursday, Dec. 24, 1981, in Elkins, a son of Rodney "Pete" Haddix and Cathy Lorraine Thompson Haddix, who survive in Elkins.
He is survived by his beloved girlfriend of seven years, Leesa Ice.
Others left to cherish Nick's memory are his sister, Connie Lea Boggs and husband, Doug, and their children, Linlee, Ryan, Ben and Griffin, all of Elkins; his brother, Rodney "Ted" Haddix and wife, Abby, and their children Hannah, Tristen and Emerson, all of Beverly; his maternal grandparents, Myron and Annabelle Thompson of Elkins; a special aunt and uncle, Barbara and Willie Arbogast; his two dogs, Taunto and Gunner; and many friends.
Preceding Nick in death were his paternal grandparents, Ross and Nancy Haddix.
Nick was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 2000 where he played football, ran track and was an All-State Catcher in baseball. At the time of his death, Nick worked as a supervisor for ATOS. He enjoyed being outdoors, playing softball in the Parsons league and spending time with family and friends.
Visitation will be conducted at Randolph Funeral Home Friday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel Saturday, March 8, at 11 a.m. The Rev. William McAllister will officiate, and interment will follow in St. Brendan Cemetery in Elkins.
