PETERSBURG - Brandon George struck out 10 batters in five innings Monday as Petersburg defeated Southern Garrett, Md., 7-2, in the season opener.

Keith Chapman took the loss for Southern Garrett. Seth Holler hit a home run in the first inning, but the Rams only mustered two more hits in the contest.
