PARSONS - Elkins swept Tucker County Friday in prep softball action at Camp Kidd.
The Tigers (2-1) took the opening game 13-1 in five innings as Jordan Hart and Haley Collett each knocked in two runs. Sydney Leary was 4 for 4 with three runs scored, while Madison Collett went 2 for 3.
Kori Evans went the distance to earn the win, giving up five hits, striking out three and walking one.
Elkins completed the sweep with a 23-1 victory in the nightcap.
Taylor Pingley went 2 for 2 with a homer and four RBIs for the?Tigers. Katy Reed 2 for 2 with three RBIs and a triple and Alyssa Harper was 2 for 2 with a double.
Harper was the winning pitcher, allowing four hits, fanning five and walking three in three innings.
"I was proud of the way we rebounded after an ugly loss to Lincoln (10-0) on Thursday," Elkins first-year coach Ashley Cameron said. "We cleaned up the errors and mental mistakes, and hit the ball well.
"The way the girls played is the level of play I expect as we move forward."
The Tigers are slated to visit Lewis County at 4:30 p.m. today.

BRIDGEPORT?- Bridgeport claimed a Big 10 Conference victory over Buckhannon-Upshur on Saturday.
Lindsey Wagoner had two hits, including a double, to pace the Bucs (1-1) at the plate. Allie Hays took the loss on the mound.
Molly Layne led the Indians with a pair of hits, while Daniel Dennison was the winning pitcher.
B-U is scheduled to visit Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. today for another league contest.
