ELKINS - Elkins won its fourth straight game with a 21-1 win over Fairmont Senior Tuesday night in Big 10 Conference softball action.
Jordan Hart, Abby Gooden and Amy Fincham each went 2 for 2 for the Tigers (4-1). Hart also scored three runs with a triple.
Alyssa Harper went three innings to earn the win. She gave up one runs on six hits with one strikeout.
"We played well and took advantage of our opportunities," Elkins coach Ashley Cameron said. "The girls are swinging the bats and playing solid team defense.
"It's still early in the season, but I like the way we are playing, and hope to see us continue to improve moving forward."
The Tigers will visit East Fairmont at 5:30 p.m. Thursday for a Big 10 matchup.
Tygarts Valley 9, Tucker County 8
HUTTONSVILLE - Tygarts Valley utilized a throwing error by Tucker County in the bottom of the seventh inning to claim a 9-8 Potomac Valley Conference victory.
The Bulldogs, playing in their season opener, trailed 7-4 in the fourth inning before rallying to tie the game.
Charity Lower earned the win on the mound for Tygarts Valley. She also had three hits. Kelsey Wyss and Paige Pritt added a double and single each, while Makayla Harris had a pair of singles.
Bekah Simmons took the loss for the Mountain Lions.
Leading Tucker County (0-3) at the plate was Mariah Bowley with two hits, Simmons with a triple and single and Shannon Whitehair a single and double.
Tygarts Valley will visit South Harrison today, while the Mountain Lions will host Moorefield at 4:30 p.m. Thursday for a doubleheader.
B-U 11, Lewis County 1
BUCKHANNON - Allie Hays gave up five hits Tuesday to lead Buckhannon-Upshur to an 11-1 win over Lewis County in Big 10 play.
"It was a complete team effort," B-U coach Levi Bender said. "We came in and hit line drives everywhere. Our first eight batters reached base, so I'm very pleased with that. It really set the tone."
Hays pitched four innings, striking out three batters.
Sarah Ling paced the Lady Bucs offense, going 2-2 with a double, a triple and two runs scored. Morgan Knicely went 2-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Tori Riley took the loss for the Minutemaids, giving up eight runs on nine hits. Sophomore Lauren Blake scored the run for Lewis County.
B-U (2-1) will travel to Fairmont Senior at 5 p.m. Thursday for a Big 10 matchup.
Philip Barbour 1
BRIDGEPORT - Abby Strait struck out 10 batters Tuesday to help Bridgeport defeat Philip Barbour in Big 10 Conference action.
Haelli Killen took the loss for the Colts. She gave up six runs on nine hits in three innings.
Juniors Magen Ware and Madelyn Strait led the assault for the Indians, both going 2 for 2 with RBIs.
"I was very disappointed," Philip Barbour coach Angel McCullough said. "We committed a lot of errors. (Monday night) against RCB, we lost to a walk-off home run in the seventh inning. This just wasn't the same team tonight."
The Colts (0-3) will travel to Grafton at 5 p.m. today for a league contest.

Pendleton County 0
FRANKLIN - Jodie Funkhouser pitched a two- hit shutout Tuesday to push East Hardy past Pendleton County in Potomac Valley Conference action.
"Jodie pitched a really good game," Cougars coach Calvin Mongold said. "The girls all hit well, too. Overall, it was an excellent game."
Funkhouser struck out eight batters and did not issue a walk.
Jade Foltz paced the Cougar offense, going 2-3 with two RBIs. Rayanne Foltz and Marilyn Cassell both were 2-3 with an RBI.
Brittany Huffman took the loss for the Wildcats. She gave up 11 runs on 10 hits.
Hillary Ord and Huffman collected the hits for Pendleton County.
East Hardy (1-2) will play Spring Mills at 7 p.m. today at Hedgesville High School.
