Jimmy John Bodkin, 78, of Warren, Ohio, went to his heavenly reward with the Lord on March 30, 2014.
Born Sept. 7, 1935, in Dryfork, he was the youngest child of Osborn and Tiny Bodkin, who preceded him in death.
Jimmy moved to Ohio in 1953 and went to work at the then H.K. Porter factory, now Peerless-Winsmith. He worked his way up to become a tool maker, retiring in 1988.
On June 5, 1965, he married his wife of 48 years, Judith A. George, who survives him.
A devoted family man, Jimmy enjoyed archery, a hobby which he passed on to his grandson, as well as roller skating. In addition, he was an aviator, who received his private pilot license at the Elkins Pilot Club in West Virginia.
Jimmy is survived by his two sons, Matthew Bodkin and his wife, Michelle, and daughter Mackenzie, of Apple Creek, Ohio, and Terry Bodkin and his wife, Michelle, and son, Cody, of Kokomo, Ind.; one brother, Leo Bodkin of Warren, Ohio; and one sister, Freda Smith of Martinez, Ga.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Jimmy to MVI Hospice Care, 4891 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44505.
A private family inurnment will be conducted in Niles City Cemetery at a later date.
