Wilma M. Gilmore, 79, a resident of Chenoweth Creek Road, passed away Friday afternoon, April 11, 2014, at Valentine's Personal Care Home in
She was born June 14, 1934, at Pierce, a daughter of the late William and Ora Hile Ellis.
She was first married to John V. Raese Sr., who preceded her in death and later to Garvey Gilmore, who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, John V. Raese Jr. and wife, Jeannie, of Elkins and one daughter, Peggy Liggett and husband, Harry, of Moorefield; one sister, Yvonne Raskow, of Ft. Myers, Fla.; four grandchildren, Brittany Cave and husband, Josh, Wade Raese, Nicholas Riggs and wife, Kasey, and Haden Raese; and two great grandchildren, Kylie Cave and Silas Raese.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Samuel and Wade Ellis.
Wilma was employed in the banking industry for many years prior to her retirement. She loved bowling, horseback riding and ping pong.
She was an artist who worked with stain glass and cross stitching and was an antique collector and gardener. She enjoyed outdoor activities with her best friend, Dick Marzolf.
Friends may call from 9-11 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike House Officiating.
Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery at Davis.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Randolph County Humane Society, P. O. Box 785, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Wilma.
