Eleanor R. "Shorty" Harris, 75, of Buckhannon, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at her home while under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.
She was born Aug. 7, 1938, in Queens, a daughter of the late Troy Lee and Millie Hammonds Zickefoose.
On Dec. 2, 1957, she married Jim Harris, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jim L. Harris and wife, Dean, of Elkins, and Tim L. Harris and wife, Lori, of Buckhannon; one daughter, Marilyn Ann Foster of Phoenix, Ariz; one grandson, Timothy Ryan Harris of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Jenny and Natasha Foster, both, of Phoenix; one sister, Lena Louise "Betsy" James of Buckhannon; one nephew, Terry Liggett of Buckhannon; and one niece, Pam Lemons of Buckhannon.
Shorty was an insurance agent for many years and served as the Upshur County Clerk for two years. She attended the Mt. Rupert UMC and was a member of the CEOS.
Friends will be received today from 6-9 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating.
