MOOREFIELD - Pilgrim's Pride's "Driver of the Month" is a program that has been implemented to recognize Pilgrim's Pride CDL Drivers in Moorefield for their outstanding merit and work ethic.
Employees selected for the program have exhibited outstanding work characteristics in the categories of attendance, teamwork, attitude, job performance, paperwork, safety, vehicle inspections and must have no accidents or traffic violations.
James Runions has been selected as the "Driver of the Month" for December 2013. Runions works in the Moorefield live haul department as a loader operator and has been employed with the company since April 2010. Prior to his employment, he worked driving a truck.
Runions has excelled in every category, and has also worked as a live haul truck driver during his employment with Pilgrim's. He commented that he especially enjoys working with the other drivers.
Tim Cullers, Runions' supervisor, said, "James will work extra time when needed and he has a good attitude about his job and co-workers. James does a good job running the loaders and will perform extra jobs if needed. He is always looking out for the safety of his co-workers and himself."
Tony Kimble has been selected as the January "Driver of the Month." Kimble works in the Moorefield live haul department and has been employed with the company since September 2002. Prior to this he worked driving lumber and log trucks.
Kimble has excelled in each category, and has been a driver since his employment began. His favorite part of the job is driving and having the opportunity to work outside.
"Tony is a wonderful employee," said Jack Kimble, his supervisor. "He is always willing to help coworkers with directions or with tasks on the farms. Tony has a positive attitude and he works and drives safely."
David See has been selected as the February "Driver of the Month." See works in the Moorefield hatchery department and has been employed with the company since May 1979. Prior to his employment, he worked in farming and as a gas station attendant.
See has excelled in each category, and has driven trucks during his 35 years of employment with the company. He has driven for transfer crews, chick delivery and picking up eggs. See enjoys working around the friendly growers he sees every day.
His supervisor, Carl Thompson, commented, "Dave has a great ability to work in a team and is a very efficient driver. He maintains a positive attitude and ensures his jobs are done correctly. Dave keeps safety a top priority."
