DUNMORE - Owen Arbogast's two-run single in the top of the eighth inning helped Tygarts Valley claim a 14-12 victory over Pocahontas County Tuesday in PVC action.
The Bulldogs trailed 8-4 after just two innings before forging ahead in the fourth with a five-run outburst.
Not to be outdone, the Warriors answered in the fifth with four runs to retake a 12-9 advantage.
Tygarts Valley tied the contest in the sixth with three scores, and tallied the eventual game-winning runs on Arbogast's single in the eighth.
Each team had 13 hits and committed four errors in the slugfest.
Arbogast went 2 for 5 and finished with four RBIs to pace the winners, while P.J. Lanham was 3 for 5 with two RBIs and Rece Wamsley 2 for 4 with three RBIs and a homer.
Wes Felton had a big day at the plate for Pocahontas County, going 3 for 4 with five RBIs. He also had a homer, along with freshman Justin Hendrick.
Caleb Riggleman earned the win in 3 2/3 innings of relief. He allowed one runs on two hits, struck out five and walked four.
Wamsley and Lanham also saw time on the mound.
Felton was saddled with the loss, as he allowed five runs on five hits, while fanning seven and not issuing a walk.
Braxton Rider started and went 3 2/3 innings, giving up nine runs on eight hits, striking out three and walking two.
Tygarts Valley (11-5) will return to action at 5 p.m. Friday at the Webster County tournament.
The Warriors will visit Moorefield at 4:30 p.m. today for a PVC contest.

Elkins 17, East Fairmont 2
FAIRMONT?- Korri Evans allowed just two hits over three innings as Elkins claimed a 17-2 victory over Fairmont Senior Tuesday in Big 10 Conference play.
Evans faced just 12 batters, striking out four and walking one as the game was halted after three innings due to the mercy rule.
Sydney Leary went 2 for 2 with an RBI, stolen base and two runs scored for the Tigers, while Jordan Hart was 2 for 2 with an RBI and two stolen bases and Katy?Reed 1 for 1 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI.
Elkins (10-7) will return to action at 5:30 p.m. today with a Big 10 Conference road contest at Robert C. Byrd.
