The grand opening of the historic Elkins Darden Mill will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
The Darden Mill houses exhibits from two organizations, the West Virginia Railroad Museum and the Appalachian Forest Heritage Area. The West Virginia Railroad Museum will be showcasing its new exhibit, "Innovation and Impact: Railroads in the Mountain State." Also on display is the Appalachian Forest Heritage Area's current exhibit, "Discovering the Appalachian Forest."
This free event will feature live music from Gerry Milnes and light refreshments. The Darden Mill is owned by the preservation organization C-HOPE. It is located on the corner of Railroad Avenue and First Street in Elkins.
