Frederick Arden Williams, 86, of Buckhannon, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon.
He was born May 2, 1927, in Upshur County, a son of the late Gilbert and Izetta Cowger Williams.
On May 23, 1948, he married Maxine Cutright, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kay Wamsley and husband, Chet, of Buckhannon and Lynda Bowers and husband, Bob, of French Creek; three sons, Frederick Allen Williams and wife, Linda, of Parkersburg, Steve Williams and wife, Betty Jo, of Fitzgerald, Ga., and Randy Williams and wife, Amy, of Nolensville, Tenn.; three granddaughters; five grandsons; eight great- grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter and four brothers and sisters also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a lifetime member of the DAV.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
