Reg Trefethen, center, received the 2013 Barbour County Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award during the organization’s recent annual banquet. At left is banquet speaker Larry Cavallo, vice president of CONSOL Energy. Presenting the award was outgoing Chamber President Brenda Hunt. Recipients of the service award are nominated and elected by the full Chamber membership. The award recognizes those who have made a significant impact on the quality of life in Barbour County. Trefethen, who is the manager of Philippi’s new Market Place, received an engraved crystal star for providing “an outstanding service to the producers and citizens of the county by bringing in locally-grown produce and goods to be purchased — and sometimes given away.”
