Courses for the Agriculture A.A.S. degree will offer entrepreneurial skills combined with hands-on applications to prepare students to successfully manage family farms as profitable businesses. Course studies will include: Business Technology Mathematics, Marketing, Communications and Soil Science.

The Machinist Technology A.A.S. degree will be designed for both high school and returning adult students seeking the technical skills needed to secure well-paying machinists jobs available throughout the nation. On-line courses will be available.

Athletic Director Shawn White announced that men's and women's lacrosse and men's and women's cross country will be added to the current athletic line-up starting Fall 2014. "A lot of thought, time and effort went into this decision regarding cost, travel and the ability to recruit students and coaches to Potomac State. I believe with the strong tradition and history of our athletic department, these programs will eventually gain regional prominence." Fundraising efforts are under way to upgrade Stayman Field with artificial turf and lights and renovate the current field house to better support lacrosse, men's and women's soccer and intramural events.

The College is pleased to announce that it has been named to The 2014 Military Friendly Schools list by Victory Media, a media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. This designation honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace America's military service members, veterans and spouses as students and to ensure their success on campus.

The College is also recognized for having the 41st lowest tuition in the nation according to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) as part of the U.S. Department of Education's College Affordability and Transparency Lists.
