Thomas Jewell Jr., 88, of Buckhannon, died Monday, April 28, 2014, in Paula's Home Care in Buckhannon.
He was born Oct. 31, 1925, in Mingo County, a son of the late Thomas Howard and Georgia Damron Jewell.
On May 3, 1947, he married Eileen Reingrover, who preceded him in death Aug. 3, 2003.
Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie Clark of Buckhannon and Bobbi Burt of Washington, Pa.; one son, Thomas Harvey Jewell and wife, Linda, of Audra Park; three granddaughters, Kellie Hyre and husband, Jeff, of Sago, Melanie Shreve and husband, Bubba, of Buckhannon and Tammy Eagle and husband, Brian, of Millville, Pa.; six great-grandsons, Tyler and Coleman Shreve both of Buckhannon, Dalton, Mason and Briston Hyre, all of Sago and Devon Demko of Washington.
Mr. Jewell was a terminal manager for Mobil Oil Co. Thomas served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. (Air Force) during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Ingram Lodge Masonic Chapter 653 in Pittsburgh, Pa., and an avid golfer.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date in Chartiers Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
