ELKINS - Theresa Poling, a family nurse practitioner, will deliver remarks for the Davis & Elkins College Nurses' Pinning Ceremony at 4 p.m. Friday in The McDonnell Center.
The traditional ceremony will include the pinning of 40 nursing graduates, rose presentations and candlelit Florence Nightingale pledge. Poling's speech is titled "Words of Wisdom."
In her practice at Burnsville Medical Clinic in Burnsville, Poling focuses on disease management and health promotion of all ages.
She is particularly interested in women's health and also enjoys the pediatric portion of her practice.
Poling earned a Master of Science degree in nursing from West Virginia University in 2007, graduating with cum laude honors. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Alderson-Broaddus College in 2004, received an Associate Degree in nursing with honors from Fairmont State University in 1994 and graduated from Fred Eberle Tri-County Vocational Technical Center School of Practical Nursing in 1989.
Poling is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
The Davis & Elkins College Nurses' Pinning Ceremony is open to the public and part of the College's 105th Commencement Weekend activities Friday and Saturday. Other events include the Baccalaureate Service at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by a reception on The McDonnell Center porch, and the official Commencement Ceremonies at 10 a.m. Saturday with a reception to follow on the outdoor plaza.
