WESTON - Philip Barbour's boys and girls both placed ninth at the Class AA, Region II meet held Thursday at Lewis County High School.
Bridgeport won both meets, finishing with 177 points in the girls meet and 130 in boys competition.
The Keyser girls were second with 70 points, followed by Berkeley Springs (69), Grafton (52), Liberty (49), Frankfort (43), Petersburg (27), Lincoln (22), Philip Barbour (21) and Robert C. Byrd (18).
Marissa Long led the Colts by placing third in the 1,600 and fourth in the 800.
Petersburg was paced by Estella Lambert's third-place showing in the 400 and the second-place effort from the 4x400 relay team.
Bridgeport's Kayla Haywood captured the 100 and 200 and was part of a winning 4x200 relay team, while teammate Jenna Alonge took both the 100 and 300 hurdles.
She also anchored the first-place shuttle hurdle relay team.
The Keyser boys tallied 117 points, followed by RCB (78), Berkeley Springs (62), Grafton (48), Frankfort (43), Lincoln (28), Petersburg (25), Philip Barbour (5) and Liberty (1).
Grafton High School's Nathan Bernarde was the 100 and 300 hurdle champion, along with taking the high jump title.
Keyser's Blake Ravenscroft captured the 100 and 200, while Bridgeport's Abe Merinar took the 1,600 and 3,200.
Scott Nesland's fourth-place showing in the 3,200 led Philip Barbour.
Petersburg was paced by Grant Shanholtz, who was second in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the 110 hurdles.
He also competed on the Vikings' shuttle hurdle relay team that placed second.
The state meet, which celebrates 100 years this spring, will be held May 23-24 at Charleston's Laidley Field.
