MILL CREEK - DeRonne Murphy crushed a solo home run to lift Notre Dame over Tygarts Valley, 6-2, in the Class A, Region II semifinal.
Senior Tyler McKinsey pitched six innings to notched the win for the Irish. He struck out nine batters, while giving up five hits and one run.
Owen Arbogast took the loss for the Bulldogs. He pitched the complete game, giving up six runs on three hits and striking out five batters.

Tygarts Valley senior Keighan Chewing takes a pitcher Monday during the Class A, Region II semifinal game against Notre Dame. The Irish defeated the Bulldogs, 6-2, to move on to the Region II championship.
Murphy paced the Irish offense, going 1-for-2 with two RBIs, one run scored, a walk and a sacrifice fly.
Anthony Belcastro also had a good game, going 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Rece Wamsley led the Bulldog offense. He went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base. Percy Lanham went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Notre Dame will travel to face Pendleton County at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
