PHILIPPI - Alderson Broaddus director of athletics Dennis Creehan announced the hiring of two new coaches on Thursday.
Steve Baum has been named the new women's tennis coach, while Lauren Fenyar will guide the cheer and dance teams.
Baum has spent the past two years as the assistant men's and women's tennis coach at Regis College.
During his tenure at Regis, he helped the women claim consecutive New England Collegiate Conference Championships.
Prior to his time at Regis, Baum was a volunteer assistant at Goucher College as well as a volunteer assistant at Stevenson University.
Baum was a four-time letter winner playing tennis at Goucher.
He played top flight doubles while playing in the first, second and third flight singles. Baum also earned four letters as a swimmer and played a season of men's soccer.
Baum graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Fenyar spent four years as the cheerleading coach at Belle Vernon High School.
She was in charge of all aspects of the cheer program, including teaching gymnastic and cheerleading poses for sports games and competition.
Over the past two years, Fenyar has also been coaching competitive cheer at HotCheer All-Stars.
Under Fenyar HotCheer has placed in the top 10 at the Cheerleading Worlds Competition in both 2013 and 2014.
Fenyar earned a bachelor of Arts in Psychology Education from Saint Vincent College.
She also cheered and played softball for the Bearcats.
