Wanda Pauline Miller Hinkle, 83, a resident of Parsons, departed this life early Sunday, June 8, 2014, at her home. She had been in her usual health and died
She was born Friday, March 20, 1931, at Parsons, a daughter of the late Oscar C. and Edith Grace Lockrey Miller.
On March 23, 1951, at Clinton, Tenn., she was married to Paul Shelton Hinkle, who preceded her in death Dec. 15, 2003.
She is survived by one nephew, James Anderson and wife, Nancy, of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; her niece, Debbie Anderson Roberts and husband, Michael, of Harriman, Tenn.; and several other nephews and nieces.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by four brothers, Ronald Miller, Dale Miller, Ray Miller and Vance Miller; and three sisters, Elva Anderson, Iva Waybright and Hazel Nava.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1949 and a graduate of Berea College. She was a former secretary for the Boeing Company. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Parsons. Wanda and her husband, Paul, enjoyed traveling and had visited most every country in the world. She enjoyed her flowers and plants, and she loved her two cats.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Friday, June 13, at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Jeff Anderson will officiate, and interment will follow in Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons.
