Carolyn Jeanne Smith, 52, of Elkins, departed this life Wednesday morning, June 18, 2014, at her residence. She had been in declining health for quite some time.
She was born June 10, 1962, at Baltimore, Md., a daughter of the late Charles Roy and Janet Lee (Hall) Smith.
She is survived by her loving companion, Dale Harris of Belington; one son, Michael Daugherty; one granddaughter, Cambria of Lost Creek; and her canine companion, Bailey.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Smith.
Ms. Smith attended Philip Barbour High School and graduated from Wheeling Park High School. She was last employed at Wilson Lumber in Elkins. She was a social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Belington Post 410 and American Legion H.W. Daniels Post 29 in Elkins. She loved to work in her garden and was a Protestant by faith.
Per Carolyn's request, her remains are to be cremated. A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
