Because of reduced funding some changes in fees and hours are going into effect at the Upshur County Public Library.
The changes are minimal this year thanks to support received from the Upshur County Board of Education and grants awarded. Starting July 1, fax fees for sending will be $1 per page for national faxes and $2 per page for international faxes. The fax fee to receive faxes at the library will remain 50 cents per page.
The interlibrary loan postage fee will go from $2.50 to $3.50 on July 1. The increase in the postage fee is due to increased postal rates which the library budget can no longer offset.
The library will switch to summer hours once the Summer Reading Program ends July 18. Summer hours will begin the week of July 14 and end the week of Aug. 4. The library will be open Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 14 through Aug. 4. The library will be closed on Saturdays July 19, July 26 and Aug. 2. Summer hours will end the week of Aug 4-9 in preparation for school starting
The library will be closed on July 4-5 in observance of Independence Day.
