ELKINS - Braxton County and Tucker County earned spots in the Little League 9-10-year-old state tournament by capturing wins Wednesday night in District 8 play at Riverbend Park.
Braxton County earned the District 8 title with 13-3 victory over Tygarts Valley, going 4-0 in the eight-team tournament.
Tucker County also advanced by defeating Summersville, 14-3, in Wednesday's first game and qualified as the District 8 runner-up. Tucker County's lone loss came to Braxton County in pool play.

The remaining records of the teams that competed in the District 8 tournament included Summersville (2-2), Tygarts Valley (2-2), Elkins Blue (1-2), Clay County (1-2), Elkins Red (1-2) and Webster County (0-3).
The 9-10-year-old state tournament will begin July 10 in Charleston.
The 11-12-year-old District 8 tournament, meanwhile, will get underway Saturday at Summersville.
Elkins will face Tygarts Valley at 6 p.m. Saturday in Pool B play.
