The 2014 Farmers Market Coupons will be available for distribution at both the Mt. Top and Parsons Senior Centers beginning at 9 a.m. July 15. They will be given out on a first come, first serve basis.
To be eligible to receive the coupons you must meet the income guidelines established for the program. For more information, please call the senior center at 304-478-2423, or visit the center. Guidelines will be posted in the July Senior Outlook monthly newsletter.
Due to scheduled trips, people on vacation, holidays and difficulties to schedule programs during this period, officials will not hold a Parsons Outpost dinner and program in the month of July.
Please note the Goldenaires Choir will be hosting an Independence Day Program in conjunction with their weekly singing on Thursday. The program will begin at 10:30 a.m., so plan to come early and enjoy the festivities as we kick off the holiday weekend.
The Tucker County Senior Centers will be closed on Friday in observance of the Independence Day holiday. The Centers will be open on the usual schedule on July 7.
Since we have no more than one nominee for each of the Silvered Hair Legislature Offices for 2014, an election at the senior center in not required. The nominees will automatically be installed in office. Officials do thank those who have volunteered their time and resources to represent us at the legislature.
Officials are always looking for places to travel and enjoy great entertainment. An opportunity is available to us right here in our Tucker County community to enjoy fun, great music and fellowship with events associated with Pickin' in Parsons.
Officials have a chance to purchase discount tickets for several events and are trying to provide transportation via Senior Center vans to those needing a ride. Officials will have lists posted at both the Parsons and Mt. Top Centers for those who may be interested. Once officials have a list of interested people, final arrangements will be made.
Please stop by or call as soon as possible if you would like to be part of the group. Officials need to let the management know how many tickets are required and how many vans and drivers will need to scheduled. Officials only have a short window of time to put this together and purchase the tickets.
