Willard K. Daniels, 88, a resident of Beverly and more recently of Cortland Acres Nursing Home, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014.
He was born Sept. 29, 1925, at Beverly, a son of the late Dee and Ada Stalnaker Daniels.
After graduating from Beverly High School, he joined the United States Navy and served his country during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
On April 26, 1952, at Monterey, Va., he was married to Lovie Rexrode Daniels, who preceded him in death in 2009.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Thurman and Guy Daniels; one sister, Geraldine Daniels Weese; one son, Gene Daniels; and one grandson, Jason Starr. Surviving are four children, Butch Daniels and wife, Judy, Lexington, N.C., Danny Daniels and wife, Shirley, Beverly, Mark Daniels, Beverly, and Susie Starr and husband, Bill, of Beverly.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Cody and Joseph Daniels and Misty Starr and husband, Boyd.
Mr. Daniels wishes for cremation were honored. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
