Ada Imogene Tyson Canfield, 91, a resident of Montrose, departed this life Tuesday July 8, 2014, in Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center at Elkins.
She was born Monday, Oct. 2, 1922, at Glengary, a daughter of the late Allen Thurman and Mary Goldie Fuss Tyson.
On Aug. 25, 1944, at Martinsburg, she was married to Douglas Earl Canfield, who preceded her in death Oct. 18, 1991.
Surviving are two brothers, Lowell Thomas Tyson and wife, Janice, of Martinsburg and Clifford Lee Tyson and wife, Mary, Kaye, of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Kathleen Mae Ashton of Hedgesville; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were one brother, Paul Allen Tyson; and one sister, Mary Elizabeth Davis.
She attended Glengary Elementary School and Hedgesville High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Leading Creek Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and Israel United Methodist Church at Kerens. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, making bread and crocheting.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins Saturday, July 12, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., the funeral hour. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Brenda M. Forren will officiate, and interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
