Donald Eugene Marchman, 67, a resident of Elkins, departed this life early Monday morning, July 21, 2014, in Charleston Area Medical Center General Division at Charleston. He had been in declining health.
He was born Thursday, April 3, 1947, at Atlanta, Ga., a son of the late Eugene Jefferson and Mary Della Marks Marchman.
Surviving are one daughter, Sarah Heiss and husband, Eric, of Colorado; one brother, Robert Eugene Marchman and wife, Karen, of Grafton; five sisters, Patricia Lynn Williams and husband, Bill, and Beverly "Sue" Marsh and husband, Roger, all of Philippi, Debra Kayrell Vest and husband, Kenny, of Coalton, Shirley Ann Anderson and husband, Danny, and Iona Dell Herron and husband, Dale, all of Belington; one sister-in-law, Chris Marchman of Junior; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were two daughters, Renee and Crystal Dawn Marchman; and one brother, Steven John Marchman.
He attended the schools of Atlanta, Ga., and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an over the road truck driver for many years, traveling more than a million miles. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed karaoke, loved his family and his extended family at the Elkins Manor and Ultra Care.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5-8 p.m. Thursday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home Friday, July 25, at 11:30 p.m. Pastor Linda Marsh will officiate, and interment will follow in Deer Haven Cemetery at Junior.
