Tigers from all over gather in the Elkins High School cafeteria Saturday when the Elkins High School Alumni Association held its annual picnic. The event is the largest fundraiser for the group each year. A chicken dinner prepared by the Elkins Lions Club, door prizes, a 50-50 drawing and karaoke were among the festivities, along with a lot of conversation and catching up with old friends and classmates. Proceeds from the event are reinvested in the community in the form of scholarships and support for programs at the high school. The association’s next event is an open house planned for the evening of the Firefighter's Parade during the Mountain State Forest Festival. It will be from 6-10 p.m. at the American Legion. Patti Wilmoth Heisman (1974) and her husband, Ross, were among the many Elkins High School alumni who gathered Saturday.
