Area high school volleyball teams returned to the court for the start of preseason drills on Monday.
Philip Barbour will be looking to advance to the Class AA state tournament for the 13th straight year. The Colts must replace All-State performers Nikki Shriver, Mariah Davis and Hannah Stewart from last year's squad, which lost in the state semifinals.
The Colts will open the regular season Sept. 3 at Robert C. Byrd.

Buckhannon-Upshur also must replace several standouts from last year's sectional title team, as All-Staters Leah Blend and Mackenzie Leigh have both graduated.
The Bucs will host Lincoln to start the campaign on Sept. 3.
Elkins, which lost to Buckhannon-Upshur in sectional play in 2013, must replace three seniors. The Tigers are scheduled to visit Preston on Sept. 3.
Replacing several seniors, including All-Staters Charity Lower and Paige Pritt, will be the task for Tygarts Valley.
The Bulldogs will begin the season Sept. 4 at home against Petersburg.
