Marie Ann Hosch, 91, a resident of Elkins, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 14, 2014, at her home.
She was born Feb. 20, 1923. in Randolph County, a daughter of the late John and Mary Kinkopf Swiger.
She was married to Charles Lewis Hosch, who preceded her in death Oct. 7, 1997.
Surviving are a stepson, Michael Hosch and wife, Annie, of California; two brothers, John Swiger of California, and William Swiger of Ohio. Two stepgrandsons, several nieces and nephews including Marlene Simonetta, Marcia Haffey and husband, Ross, Frank Swiger Jr., the Rev. Charles Osberger and Robert Osberger, Bill Swiger and wife, Gail, George Swiger and wife, Cynthia, Bruce Swiger and wife, Darla, and Heidi Sahli and husband, Ed; and many grandnieces and grandnephews also survive.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, Frank Swiger Sr.; and a sister, Marguerite Osberger.
Mrs. Hosch attended the schools of Randolph County. She was a world traveler, was employed overseas for many years and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hosch was a protector and lover of cats and housed, fed and doctored many stray cats throughout the years.
Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Peter Vial officiating. Interment will follow in Elkins Memorial Gardens.
