The Rev. Eugene "Gene" Rhoden, 83, a resident of Elkins, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, in Nella's Nursing Home.
He was born Jan. 14, 1931, at Grafton, a son of the late Alex Rhoden and Mildred Male Rhoden.
He was married to Ann Catherine Shelton Rhoden, who preceded him in death in 1997.
He is survived by two sisters, Ella Brown and Rosaline Cosgrove, both of Canton, Ohio.

The Rev. Rhoden and his wife moved to Randolph County in 1971. In 1973, they started the Cathedral of Deliverance Church on 16th Street in Elkins where he ministered until his
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor A. H. Belt officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens.
