Ms. Harriet Marlene Cross Thomas, 59, a resident of Belington, departed this life early Tuesday morning, Sept. 2, 2014, in Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, following an extended illness.
She was born May 21, 1955, at Belington, a daughter of the late Hensen Cross and Hope Yvonne Bedford Cross, who survives at Belington.
Also surviving are one daughter, Ginger Thomas and companion, Shawn Price, of Belington; one brother, Daniel Cross and wife, Freda, of Belington; four sisters, Linda Everson and husband, Roger, of Belington, Barbara Summerfield of Belington, Beuna Pomp and husband, Mike, of Belington and Susan McMann and husband, Bill, of Marlinton; and one sister-in-law, Kathy Cross of Pennsylvania. She also is survived by five grandchildren, Douglas Michael Smith, Kayla Hope Smith, J.T. Roby, Chance Paul Price and Cole Garrett Price; and her former husband, Michael Thomas of Belington. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Cross; and one brother-in-law, Roger Dale Summerfield.
Marlene attended the schools of Barbour County, was a homemaker and attended Belington Church of the Nazarene.
Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 4-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, and again Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Richard Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in Lambert Chapel Cemetery near Belington.
