Do you believe the Earth is undergoing a climate change?

  1. Global warming is a myth.
  2. Global warming is real and is caused by industrial actitivity
  3. Global warming is real but is occurring naturally
  4. I'm not sure whether global warming is real or not

Global warming.......oops, it started getting 'colder' so they changed it to climate change. LOL. Then the real emails came out in the public eye; proving these arrogant BILLIONAIRES are laughing at those stupid enough to buy their outright lies to bring a humongous tax on you and still the nonthinking idiots out there still believe it. There's a sucker born every minute. LOL.

Science demonstrates that climate change is occurring, and it is mostly caused by human activity. Temperature records, CO2 records, plant and animal species migrations, ice cover data, sea level data--every variable that you can think of has been and is being tested, measured, and analyzed by thousands of scientists worldwide. You talk about following the money--even the Koch brothers now agree. But don't listen to me or the conspiracy theorists: educate yourself and make up your own mind. ****csmonitor****/Science/2012/0730/Prominent-climate-change-denier-now-admits-he-was-wrong-video. From the Christian Science Monitor:

"In an opinion piece in the New York Times titled “The Conversion of a Climate-Change Skeptic,” prominent climate-change denier Richard Muller writes:

“Three years ago I identified problems in previous climate studies that, in my mind, threw doubt on the very existence of global warming. Last year, following an intensive research effort involving a dozen scientists, I concluded that global warming was real and that the prior estimates of the rate of warming were correct. I’m now going a step further: Humans are almost entirely the cause.”

The Berkeley project’s research has shown, Muller says, “that the average temperature of the earth’s land has risen by 2½ degrees Fahrenheit over the past 250 years, including an increase of 1½ degrees over the most recent 50 years. Moreover, it appears likely that essentially all of this increase results from the human emission of greenhouse gases.”

He calls his current stance “a total turnaround.”

This very intelligent, educated man was a vocal skeptic, but then the data came back contrary to his beliefs. Though it wasn't what he wanted to hear, he manned up and accepted what science was showing him. I wish more people had that kind of courage.

****nytimes****/2012/07/30/opinion/the-conversion-of-a-climate-change-skeptic.html

"The careful analysis by our team is laid out in five scientific papers now online at BerkeleyEarth****. That site also shows our chart of temperature from 1753 to the present, with its clear fingerprint of volcanoes and carbon dioxide, but containing no component that matches solar activity. Four of our papers have undergone extensive scrutiny by the scientific community, and the newest, a paper with the analysis of the human component, is now posted, along with the data and computer programs used. Such transparency is the heart of the scientific method; if you find our conclusions implausible, tell us of any errors of data or analysis."

Liberals make me laugh. They 'believe' obviously whatever the NYT says....or some magazine called christian science monitor. Yep; that would be the left's 'source' of info. LOL. When I am shown FACTS not some media mouthpiece's "opinion" then I'll change my mind. Oops....no facts, but lots of accidental emails from you all 'laughing' at those dumb enough to fall for your concocted stories. And yet some still 'believe.' LOL.

bailey, you're a little behind the curve on this.

First of all, "global warming" is an outdated term. The Al Gores of the world now call it "climate change."

Second, all of the hoopala is based on computer modeling, and they've found that some of the models showing warming are flawed.

Third, some of the "scientists" have outright lied, and they admit it. Their agenda: Starve the U.S. of energy consumption, thereby bringing us down to the level of under-developed and un-developed nations of the world.

Suggestion: Don't believe anything coming out of Berkeley. The scam is that they invent a crisis and then get government money to study the crisis. It's all about the research money.

I find it interesting in that almost all of the climate scientists in the world now believe in human-induced climate change. And not because of a NY Times article, but because of an overwhelming amount of data supporting it. Yet people with almost no in-depth knowledge of climatology deny it because Fox News tells them too. Or a politician tells them too. People who have no idea of what they are talking about. If you had heart problems would you go to a heart specialist, or a Fox News talking head? If you needed help on a blight attacking your corn, would you go to a Tea Party politician or an Agricultural scientist? Climate change is real and it is happening. And at some point in the next 20-40 years, even the most pig headed opponent is going to have to accept it.

Obviously BorninBelington hasn't read the FACTS or the STUDY right? How do I know this? Because the facts aren't there. Nothing they tell you adds up. Other more honorable scientists are being quieted and liberal media is helping. You just keep believing what these crooks tell you and the rest of us who KNOW better and don't just take someone's 'word' for it will not be the one's left looking even more stupid than these clowns trying to rip citizens off with a worldwide TAX.

DId it ever behoove you to ask yourself.....if it is true......what does TAXING everyone have to do with it? Paying a tax won't STOP it. See what THINKING intelligently will do?!? Smarten up dimwits on left. You're being fed the biggest lie since Obamacare. I guess some people love being fed lies. Only stupid people support things that make their lives more miserable, but hey if that's your thing...

Even until this day...these clowns won't and can't show one iota of evidence about what they 'claim.' I don't go around believing everything some jerk tells me. Educate yourselves and you won't be one of the same folks who continuously get suckered by common thieves and scams and schemes. Funny how it's always the same folks that get taken.

Maybe one day they'll come up with a 'better' lie than they've been telling but for now....it's ridiculously funny at the idiotic things they are saying to convince us 'global warming' exists. It's getting colder and then we have spells where it gets warmer. Oh gee...that's only been happening about........FOREVER!!

Regardless of the facts you read and/or believe, you can't deny the fact(s) that the summers are hotter than they were 20 years ago, the winters in some areas are more harsh, rains and hurricanes are hitting us hard (don't forget what Sandy did from the coast into West Virginia) and what happened recently in Colorado, and the fact the glaciers are getting smaller...something is going on...and if sit back and do nothing...it will be interesting for our future generations.

Global warming is merely a giant money maker

With TRILLIONS to be profitted from carbon credits and green taxes, this is ALL about greed

While China, Mexico, and India spew massive amounts of pollution, they are NOT being targeted!

The US manufacturing base is all but destroyed and now the globalists want the ONLY industry we have left destroyed!

ENERGY production via COAL, OIL, and GAS are the ONLY jobs that can't be exported so they are now being targeted

Remember the great "hole in the ozone layer" scam??

Well I do!!

And it was a COMPLETE scam that was driven by MONEY!!

And THIS one is EXACTLY the same scam being pulled on the gullible 20 somethings that have been brainwashed their ebtire lives in the pubic education system!!

No, because solar & volcanic activity are the primary drivers of "Climate change". I have been in New Zealand where glaciers less than 5 miles apart were behaving in opposition to each other. Also, I have been in Alaska recently where the National Park Service maps of Glacier Bay show (clearly)that the glacial melt was far greater in the 1700's than in recent times. I think that the world had far fewer people and fossil fueled machines back then, don't you? Lastly, why do you think they call it Greenland?

Whenever I need to laugh at how much ignorance can be stuffed between two ears, I read the opinion page of the Inter-Mountain. Truthseeker is able to decide whether or not climate change is real or myth based on the thermometer outside his front door. That's a little like saying that trees make the wind blow... Perhaps if I were to put on a warmer coat I could conclude we're not going to have winter this year. Climate change doesn't begin and end in Randolph County West Virginia. The alarming truth is that we may have already passed the point of reversal and that the tipping point has already occurred. If so, the earth won't be the loser in all of this - we will. The earth will survive just fine, but we will have ruined a very fragile and lovely ecosystem and for what?

New Zealand glaciers are not evidence against global warming. Please stop repeating coal/corporate talking points. Here's the science: "Several glaciers, notably the much-visited Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers on the West Coast, have periodically advanced, especially during the 1990s, but the scale of these advances is small when compared to 20th-century retreat. Both glaciers are currently more than 2.5 km (1.6 mi) shorter than a century ago. These large, rapidly flowing glaciers situated on steep slopes have been very reactive to small mass-balance changes. A few years of conditions favorable to glacier advance, such as more westerly winds and a resulting increase in snowfall, are rapidly echoed in a corresponding advance, followed by equally rapid retreat when those favorable conditions end. Hence glacier advance in a few locations is regarded as due to transient local weather conditions which brought more precipitation and cloudier, cooler summers since 2002."
