ELKINS – Randolph and surrounding counties are under a tornado watch until 4 p.m., the National Weather Service has announced.

Randolph, Barbour, Pocahontas, Tucker and Upshur counties are all included in the watch, which the NWS posted at 10:30 a.m.

A NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook also in effect for the area states “locally heavy rainfall may also accompany thunderstorms.”

The Outlook also states that no hazardous weather is expected from Monday through Saturday.
