Gregory Eugene ‘Greg’ Tallman

TALLMAN

Mr. Gregory Eugene “Greg” Tallman, 74, a resident of Elkins departed this life early Monday morning, Oct. 7, 2024, at his residence. Death was following a period of declining health.

He was born Oct. 3, 1950 at Philippi, West Virginia, a son of the late Denver Eugene “Gene” and Rita Rosalee Wiseman Tallman. On Feb. 28, 2011, he was united in marriage to the former Vicky Lynn Simmons, who survives at their home in Elkins.

Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Brittney Tallman Archibald and husband, Joel, of Manassas, Virginia, three step-children, Ryan Scott of Beverly, Vanessa Scott of Elkins, and Lacey Marstiller of Valley Bend; two brothers, Jeffrey Wayne Tallman and wife, Beverly, of Belington, and L.J. Tallman and wife, Tammy, of Belington; three step-siblings, Tiffany Ware, Vicki Meadows and Christy Costakis; a sister-in-law; Louis Tallman of South Carolina; and a step-mother, Faye Booth Tallman of Belington. Additional survivors include two grandchildren, Mason and Meredith Archibald; eight step-grandchildren, Austin, Olivia, Roman, Carter, Ryka, Addie, Amiah and Cora.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Tallman; a brother, Eric Rodney Tallman; a step-granddaughter, Laylah, and his canine companion, Max.

Greg was a graduate of the Victory High School in Clarksburg, West Virginia, and attended the Baltimore Business College for computer programming. He was a former owner of Tallman Auto Sales and also of Tallman and McCoy Trucking. He previously worked at the Huttonsville Corrections Center, from which he retired. He was an avid dirt track and NASCAR fan and enjoyed going to the dog races. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Friends and family will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, from 5-8 p.m., and again on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, from 8 a.m. to noon, funeral hour with the Rev. A.H. Belt officiating. Per Greg’s request cremation will follow.
